Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is based on the classical ballet training of the Royal Academy of Dance, London, under the patronage of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. The emphasis is on strong technique, which allows for greater artistic freedom. IDA accentuates the importance of strength in body, mind and character.
The disciplined environment meets the full spectrum of needs for novice dancers to ballerinas training for professional opportunities. Classical ballet provides the foundation for all other dance forms. While it is the most demanding and disciplined of all dance styles, it is also the most rewarding. With a solid ballet foundation, classically trained dancers have the unique ability to transfer their skills into jazz, modern dance, or any other dance form they pursue.
Our History
From modest beginnings in 2000, IDA has responded to demand and expanded to an over 5,500 square feet studio flooded with natural light conveniently located in Sunrise, FL bordering Weston, Plantation, and Davie.
Also in 2000 the International Ballet Company, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit youth dance organization, was born, offering professional full-length productions at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts.
Our Facility
IDA boasts 5,500 sq.ft of dedicated space with three fully-equipped air conditioned studios with sprung floors, wall-to-wall mirrors and viewing windows. Parking is conveniently located outside the front door making drop off and pick up easy.
